lyrics
Spirit of Qemetiel saved by Fire
In anticipation of Deicide
The time of Black Flame has come
In striking the very heart of the divided
In the depth of the Great Abyss in Tehiru
The Elevenheaded Dragon
Will fade the rays of conscious fire
Interrupting the filling of Emptiness
With own forms of creation
The Making will not be committed
In the sin of ordering
Of unconscious essence
Alien to creation
The Making will not be committed
Lacerated by foreign Essences Masukhiel
Is buried in overthrown thoughts of order
Where the supreme throne is perpetually usurped
With returning to the Primordial Statelessness
The Making will not be committed
In the sin of ordering
Of unconscious essence
Alien to creation
The Making will not be committed

Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end. sachavonkarl74

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74

Swirling guitars, furious drums, vocals that at the same time howl from infinite distance and are right up in your head; everything put into dissonant form with the help of unconventional songwriting. This album is my personal key to the icelanding black metal madness that I've ignored for way too long! Lukas Kaufmann
The metal’s band revelatory new record crosses genres and styles, effortlessly combining seemingly incompatible subgenres. Bandcamp Album of the Day Apr 26, 2024
